You may wonder why 8x8 cares about this. We care because we want to help companies thrive, and we believe communications is the foundation on which to build a resilient business. Many companies are required or voluntarily having employees work from home. Just as much of the market has moved from on-premise systems to the cloud for server infrastructure through companies such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, there is a similarly massive shift of companies moving communications to the cloud, obviously accelerated by the current state of affairs. The question has now become not if you should move communications to the cloud but when you should move it to the cloud and how quickly you can do so.
Personally, we're particularly excited about the customer resilience section in this document, because the way that companies work with their customers during this time has the potential to build loyalty that will far outlast the crisis.
